Early Days.

Originally a Christchurch company est 1993 by Gary Bourke , Gary had lived in Melbourne, Australia and made contacts in the fitness equipment industry, when Gary came home periodically to visit his family he saw an opportunity to bring the fitness equipment business to New Zealand. 

The first store opened in Christchurch on the corner of Moorehouse and Montreal st, 18 months later Gary’s sister Sharon and her husband Ian Kirk joined the business and Elite Fitness expanded to Auckland in 1995 with 2 stores opening. The Wellington store opened 2 years later and then a nationwide plan was implemented to turn Elite Fitness into a Nationwide company.

Today

Elite Fitness has been serving the fitness equipment needs of everyday New Zealanders for over 19 years. Our philosophy is to design and co-operate with some of the world’s best fitness equipment manufacturers in producing fitness equipment which will meet New Zealanders’ heavy demands.

The Elite Fitness brand covers all fitness categories and we have, combined with our New Zealand owners and senior management, over 100 years’ combined experience in the New Zealand home fitness market. We know what we are doing and continuously look for updated technology and cutting-edge design to advance fitness products for New Zealanders even further.
