Just Arrived
My Elite Power Cage 1000 arrived today. All in all, seems pretty good.
It took a couple hours to assemble, which was fine. Everything fitted into place nicely (didn't need to force any joins/connections as is sometimes the case with kitset stuff). You will need a spanner etc to correctly assemble. The finished power cage looks exactly the same as in the picture. The safety catchers and bar hooks seem to slide up and down okay, they have a nice spring loaded locking mechanism which can also be screwed into place, they also have a wide rubber strip on the contact sides. Pull up bar seems strong. Dip bars seem good, really quick to attach/detach. Structure seems strong, doesn't wobble or flex at all.
Only issue I had was with the suggested order of the bar hooks, the picture suggests putting the long one on first (i.e. in the picture long hooks are lower, short hooks are higher). I decided to swap these around, so the short hooks are lower (I use them for bench pressing), and the long hooks are higher (I use them for squats). The long hooks are needed for squats so your feet have enough room due to the base cross bar. Also, there's nothing stopping you putting one set of bar hooks on the front uprights (if you're that way inclined).
Assembled dimenstions are:
Depth: 100cm
Width: 110cm
Height: 203cm
Note: I though some bits were missing when I compared what I had with the instruction booklet, but it turns out some small parts are pre-assembled (i.e. plastic stoppers, pull up bar bolts and washers etc).
