General Cardio Maintenance

The equipment is safe to use only when periodically maintained and inspected for faults and wear.

CAUTION: Do not attempt any servicing or adjustment other than those described in this maintenance guide. An authorised service representative from Elite Fitness Equipment must perform any other servicing. Check the tightness of all screws every 6 months. Do not over tighten.

NOTE: Defective components must be immediately replaced and the equipment must not be operated with any defective components. If the equipment does not function properly during use, contact your nearest Elite Fitness Store. Always give the model and serial number of your equipment. Please state the nature of the problem and the purchase date.

Despite continuous quality control, defects and malfunctions caused by individual components may occur in the equipment. In most cases it’s unnecessary to take the whole device in for repair, as it’s usually sufficient to replace the defective part.

CHANGING BATTERIES: Some of the consoles are battery operated and these need to be changed if the display fades considerably or completely. Detach the lid of the battery casing at the back of the console and remove the old batteries. Place the new batteries in the holder and push the battery casing lid into place.

Exercycles

Exercycles require very little maintenance but it is important to carry out the following maintenance tips:• After exercising, clean the equipment with a soft, absorbent cloth. Do not use solvents. Sweat may cause corrosion: we recommend therefore that you protect all metal surfaces outside the plastic covers with Teflon or car wax.

  • • Never remove the equipment’s protective casing.
  • • Inspect your Exercycle for lose parts, nuts, bolts, etc. Pay special attention to the seat and handlebar pop-pins.
  • • The electromagnetic brake forms a magnetic field that may damage the mechanism of a watch, or the magnetic identification strip on a credit or eftpos card, should they come into immediate contact with the magnets. Never attempt to detach or remove the electromagnetic brake!
  • • The electromagnetic brake is based on electromagnetic resistance; resistance level is electronically measured and shown as watt reading on the display. Due to the measurement system, your Exercycle need not be recalibrated when assembled, serviced and used according to this owner’s manual.
  • • If the equipment is not used for a period of time the transmission belt may become temporarily distorted. This can lead to a sensation of slightly uneven pedaling. However, after a few minutes of use the effect disappears as the belt returns to its original form.

Ellipticals

Ellipticals require very little maintenance but it is important to carry out the following maintenance tips:

  • • After exercising, clean the equipment with a soft, absorbent cloth. Do not use solvents. Sweat may cause corrosion: we recommend therefore that you protect all metal surfaces outside the plastic covers with Teflon or car wax.
  • • Never remove the equipment’s protective casing.
  • • Inspect your Elliptical for lose parts, nuts, bolts, etc.

Rowers

Rowers require very little maintenance but it is important to carry out the following maintenance tips:

  • • After exercising, clean the equipment with a soft, absorbent cloth. Do not use solvents. Sweat may cause corrosion: we recommend therefore that you protect all metal surfaces outside the plastic covers with Teflon or car wax.
  • • Check the condition of the wire before every training session.
  • • Never remove the equipment’s protective casing.
  • • Inspect your Rower for lose parts, nuts, bolts, etc. Pay special attention to the seat and handlebar pop-pins.

Any damage caused to the equipment due to the disregard of this maintenance guide will not be covered by warranty.
